It’s a matter of great pride and privilege to join as Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO Chennai.
The education system today is undergoing rapid transformation with shifting focus areas, increasing Indianization, emphasis on vocational needs, and integration of technology. As school leaders, we must constantly reinvent ourselves to meet the evolving requirements and aspirations of our learners and society. The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) envisions significant reforms in examinations, childhood pedagogy, language proficiency, and vocational education.
There is a pressing need for us to engage deeply with the NCF and adapt relevant modifications in Kendriya Vidyalayas wherever necessary. However, these changes must be implemented smoothly and systematically. This calls for proactive efforts in sensitizing and involving all stakeholders—students, parents, and teachers—by explaining the rationale and benefits of such policy shifts. Transforming fixed mindsets into growth mindsets may be a challenging task, but it is imperative for progress.
As school leaders, we must clearly distinguish between essential and non-essential activities in our institutions and strive to enhance the former. Let us build on our existing strengths and introduce positive changes in key areas with collective enthusiasm and commitment.
Every student of KVS Chennai Region is precious to us. It is our responsibility to facilitate their holistic learning, ensure academic excellence, and promote their well-being within the crucial years of school education. As Confucius rightly said, “We have two lives. The second begins when you realize you only have one.”
