Kendriya Vidyalaya Thakkolam is a progressive Co-Educational school under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan instituted under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Established in year 1996, the Vidyalaya is imparting quality education to children of defense personnel, center/ state govt. employees and middle class neighborhood . The school follows CBSE curriculum and classes taught are from class I to XII each class having two sections ( from I to X) and Science streams for class XI and XII. The school is housed in a permanent building (A Type) having adequate number of classrooms , labs, offices, activity and resource rooms, play grounds , Botanical garden, Kitchen Garden etc. It is situated at RTC (A) Suraksha Campus, Near NDRF Main Gate Thakkolam

The School is under the able leadership of DIG CISF who is the Chairman of VMC.
