Labs – Physics/Chemistry/Biology
1. Physics Lab
The Physics Lab at Kendriya Vidyalaya Thakkolam is well-equipped to provide students with hands-on experience in understanding the principles of physics through experimentation and observation. The lab is designed to cater to students from Classes IX to XII, offering a variety of instruments and apparatus for experiments related to:
- Mechanics, Electricity, and Magnetism
- Optics and Thermodynamics
- Modern Physics concepts
Students perform practicals that align with their CBSE curriculum, allowing them to grasp theoretical concepts more effectively by conducting real-world experiments. The lab has ample space for group activities and individual work, promoting an environment of inquiry and learning.
2. Chemistry Lab
Our Chemistry Lab is equipped with modern tools and chemicals to facilitate practical lessons in physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. It adheres to the highest safety standards, with proper ventilation and safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, aprons, and goggles readily available. Students from Classes IX to XII perform a wide range of experiments, including:
- Volumetric analysis
- Salt analysis
- Chemical reactions and compound identification
- Study of chemical properties and kinetics
The hands-on experiences provided in the lab help students build strong foundational knowledge and develop skills in scientific techniques and safety practices.
3. Biology Lab
The Biology Lab provides a comprehensive learning environment for students to explore the biological sciences. With a wide range of models, preserved specimens, slides, and microscopes, the lab enables students to study:
- Human anatomy and physiology
- Plant and animal specimens
- Cell biology and genetics
- Ecological experiments
Students in Classes IX to XII use the lab to conduct dissections, prepare slides, and observe cellular structures, enhancing their understanding of life sciences through practical experience. The lab is spacious, ensuring students can work individually or in groups to explore biological phenomena.
